Driving west from Lincoln to Grand Island, Nebraska, Paul A. Johnsgard remarks, is like driving backward in time. "I suspect," he says, "that the migrating cranes of a pre-ice age period some ten million years ago would fully understand every nuance of the crane conversation going on today along the Platte."
Johnsgard has spent nearly a half century observing cranes, from a yearly foray to Nebraska's Platte River valley to see the spring migration, to pilgrimages to the birds' wintering grounds in Arizona and nesting territory in Alaska. In this book he draws from his own extensive experience as well as the latest science to offer a richly detailed and deeply felt account of the ecology of sandhill and whooping cranes and the wetlands in which they live.
Incorporating current information on changing migration patterns, population trends, and breeding ranges, Johnsgard explains the life cycle of the crane, as well as the significance of these species to our natural world. He also writes frankly of the uncertain future of these majestic birds, as cranes and their habitats face the effects of climate change and increasing human population pressures. Illustrated with the author's own ink drawings and containing a detailed guide to crane-viewing sites in the United States and Canada, this book is at once an invaluable reference and an eloquent testimony to how much these birds truly mean.

Where’s the owners manual?
I really like this. The only drawback is that there is no owners manual!

Clean teeth, smart features, and convenient to use!
I’ve gone through a few electric toothbrushes over the years, and this one stands out mostly because of how practical it is day to day. The cleaning power is solid, my teeth feel noticeably smoother after each use, especially along the gumline. The different modes are useful, I mostly stick to the standard clean mode, but the sensitive option is great when my gums feel a little irritated. The built in UV sanitizing and drying feature is something I didn’t think I needed, but now I appreciate it. It’s nice knowing the brush head isn’t just sitting there wet between uses. The included rinse cup and storage setup make everything feel more organized on the counter, which is a small but real upgrade. Battery life has been reliable so far, and the wireless charging base keeps things simple. It also comes with multiple brush heads, which adds value, especially if you plan to stick with it long term.

Cleans your teeth!
This is my first experience with an electric toothbrush. I was a little confused with how to charge this but you need to take out the cup and plug it into that spot. So it’s nice that it comes with a cup but it does go in the charging spot. The UV disinfectant and dryer is very cool indeed. I can’t tell what the difference is in all the different settings. The toothbrush does a really good job of cleaning and you can feel your teeth clean even for a while after you brush. You should put it in your mouth first before you turn it on or else you’ll spray toothpaste all over the place. Overall this was a good foray into electronic toothbrushing for me. I don’t think it’s the top quality as some of the name brands but it works and gets the job done. I love that it comes with replacement heads.
