The reverse shows a curving vine, with fresh new leaves unfurling from the stems. Behind the carved silver, there is a highly polished copper layer, which adds a striking contrast to the sterling.

The copper layer amplifies the glow of the gem from the front of the stone, reflecting light through the transparent crystal.
