Paired with the re-issue of "Vertebrae", as these two Enslaved-albums also form an important pair musically; as many of the bands releases do, forming pairs in dynamics sonically and conceptually. By now Enslaved was "up and running" with the turn to the more progressive and avant-gardist directions more or less completed with it's more mellow predecessors - "Axioma Ethica Odini" came as a lightning strike from the golden heavens of Valhalla itself - with it's more direct approach and songwriting.A big part of the big leap forward in production was the transition to using the band's own studios in Bergen in addition to getting co-producer (and present drummer) Iver Sandøy onboard as well as recording parts in his Solslottet Studios, also in Bergen - and then taking all those recording over to Jens Bogren at Fascination Studios, Örebro, Sweden for mixing. The powerful sound that resulted set a new standard for both Enslaved and progressive Extreme Metal.The By Norse Music (Ivar Bjørnson's own label) re-issue features two special songs recorded during the same sessions as the album and previously only released as a 7" single; the hypnotic ethereal "Migration" (inspired by Enslaved's collaborative commissioned piece at Molde International Jazz festival in 2008) and the doom-version of Frost-classic "Jotunblod" re-imagined for a special set at Roadburn Festival 2010. Sweet, Escapist, and Good Characters

I enjoyed the setting of this book. I love a book with a good sense of place. The chemistry between the characters was good and built through the story, I thought the book could have benefited from heavier editing. I appreciated the good dialogue, but it seemed unnecessarily copious at times, putting a drag on the forward motion of the story. Worth my time - absolutely.

Bravo!

"For two people who love words, we f***ing suck at communication." These words, uttered near the end of the book, really describe the relationship between Josie and Harriett (Harry). They have both built their careers on the crafting of words, but when it comes to them communicating with each other, there are many misunderstandings, foot-in-mouth moments, and missed opportunities to say how they feel. That, along with each one's hesitation to make the first move, causes the sexual tension to build and build, so when they finally do get together... well, you don't want to miss that!
The contrast of Josie, the American, and Harry, the Brit, is fun. The story is heart-warming. The banter is enjoyable and doesn't seem like it's just filling space in the book. The supporting characters are colorful and have depth. I really enjoyed it, so I say, "Bravo, TB Markinson! A standing ovation from me!"

Great series!
Format: Kindle
I absolutely loved this entire series. All of the stories were lovely & very "real". I have read several books by all of these authors but none have been quite like these three. There was an extra sentiment of sunny & joy in these books. I don't know if it was the setting (the Cotwolds are such a delight) or they were all just "in the zone" but it was a delightful experience. Highly recommend!!

A little dissappointed

I expected more umph or something from this book written by this author. The book is generic and not memorable at all. However, I do appreciate the author's time and effort she put into writing this and I wish her all the best. Happy Reading to you

Fantastic!
Format: Kindle
There is much to love about this story. The setting is wonderful, with picturesque descriptions of the beautiful English village where most of the story takes place; a cast of fun, quirky characters who come to life as the chapters go by; and a fantastic pair of leading ladies with chemistry to spare. But what truly stands out is the sharp, witty banter between the characters throughout the story. Frequently writers will have strong dialog between the protagonists, but T. B. Markinson has managed to write an entire story full of brilliantly crafted dialog between all of the characters, leading to so many great moments that are humorous, emotional, witty, sarcastic, etc... It is a fantastic story to read.
