Partly recorded at Steve Albini's Electrical Audio in Chicago, Bambi finds Hippo Campus working again with producer BJ Burton (Bon Iver, Low, Francis and the Lights), who handled production on their 2017 full-length debut Landmark. And in sculpting Bambi's distinctly inventive arrangements, Hippo Campus significantly expanded their use of drum machines and synths. Throughout Bambi, Hippo Campus match their relentless self-examination with a joyfully adventurous sonic approach, ultimately transforming the emotional experience of the problems they're exploring. On "Anxious," urgent rhythms and untamed vocal delivery draw an unlikely power from raw vulnerability. Meanwhile, on the album's title track, Hippo Campus's otherworldly vocals, delicate guitar lines, and sweetly determined lyrics have a strangely uplifting effect. And on "Mistakes," the band's choir-like harmonies and ethereal tones make for a haunting contrast to their meditation on the idea of "wanting to be the best you can for the people you love, but feeling like you can't really carry that out," as Jake Luppen puts it.

Lovely Throw, But Falls Short of Luxurious
I really like this two-sided throw, with its plush fur-like material on one side and silky velveteen on the other. The texture is warm and silky, and the color complements my sofa beautifully. However, while it’s a nice blanket, it doesn’t quite measure up to the same size throw I bought a month ago from a local German “here today, gone tomorrow” store. That European snuggle bundle, priced at a single Benjamin, has my entire family stealing it from one another.
This throw could benefit from being a bit heavier, with a loftier fur side and thicker velvet to feel more luxurious—especially at twice the cost of the blanket we all love. ( black Friday/cyber Monday dropped it eight dollars) Without any discounts, the price feels inflated for what it is. It’s still a lovely addition to my home, but it falls short of five stars even at the discount price on the day of this review.

Rabbit fur feel

Grey Fluffy Blankie

Too comfy and adorable 🤩
These socks are super soft and comfy, so cozy. These are the best feel good socks. The material is medium thick, so soft and fluffy. You may find a couple of fluff pieces here and there in your bed or floor after a while. They're still great socks to enjoy and lounge around in. I would suggest turning them inside out when you wash them. A good price for them too.
