About the Flag
"The Kyrgyzstan flag is composed of a red area filled with a yellow sun with a depiction of a dorm (traditional tent). About seven months after the declaration of the independence of the country, it replaced the flag of the Kyrgyz Soviet Socialist Republic (SSR) and since that year it has been the flag of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The color of the flag looks like the old Soviet flag, but the red is said to be inspired by the flag removed by the country’s popular hero Manas." (source: mappr)
