Alpinestars - RK-7 Plasma Knee Brace

With a slim ergonomic design offering a high level of off-road performance and comfort during dynamic movement, the RK-7 PLASMA Knee Brace has been engineered to provide superior knee support, while still being lightweight, breathable, comfortable, and protective. This knee brace features a free-floating Nucleon PLASMA knee protector encased in an innovative asymmetric fiber reinforced frame construction for enhanced levels of rigidity.

  • This brace provides optimal structural integrity, rigidity and comfort, and thus reduces the risk of sustaining injuries to the medial and lateral collateral ligament, the anterior and posterior cruciate ligament, and the lateral and medial meniscus.

  • The replaceable knee cups are constructed with a polyurethane outer shell backed with a Nucleon PLASMA Knee protector for the optimum blend of impact protection, flexibility and scratch resistance.

  • The replaceable strategically positioned upper and lower patella extensions ensure maximum coverage regardless of the flexion or extension angles.

  • The extremely stable, slim-design four-point hinge system perfectly follows the articulation of the knee while the extension stops, which are available in a range from 0 to 30 degrees, assist in setting the brace to the desired maximum opening angle.

  • The stainless-steel bushings in the four-point hinge system have an anti-oxidation treatment.

  • Nucleon PLASMA is a viscoelastic material engineered from bio-based polymers and formed into a structure that is pliable in all directions while maintaining the ability to dissipate impact energies. Lightweight and highly ventilated, the knee protector offers strong impact force dispersion and absorption while ensuring maximum coverage in all riding positions.

  • The Nucleon PLASMA Knee protector is constructed from USDA certified bio-based eco-friendly and sustainable impact absorbing material.

  • Soft-touch thermoformed padding ensures the highest levels of rider comfort while keeping the knee brace securely in position. Replaceable as a spare part.

  • Soft-touch thermoformed condyle padding comes in different thicknesses for a customized fit. Replaceable as a spare part.

  • Nucleon PLASMA embedded into the shin padding for additional protection.

  • Equipped with padded X-straps backed with a non-slip material to ensure the knee brace remains securely in position while riding.

  • X-straps are profiled to avoid pinching the back of the knee when fully flexed.

  • High tensile strength buckles are robust while still being flexible for easy strapping and adaptivity.

  • Upper and lower buckles are easily locked into the closed position by a keyhole snapping system.

  • Easily exchangeable extension stops (0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 degrees). Replaceable (as spare parts).

This is a "Go-To" for thinking about Cloud Challenges.
Format: Paperback
Delivering and managing fully realized applications in the cloud is different. Different approaches to classic engineering problems than traditional On Premise development and different ways of thinking through the problems of "always available" solutions. I've been in the software delivery business a long time, and with the cloud emerging, for good and ill: I understand the problems, but may be just a little set in my ways. I find this book helps me re-frame challenges in a way that aligns with the strengths of cloud computing. Solve the same problems faster, by thinking about them differently. I'm finding "97 Things Every Cloud Engineer Should Know" great for re-centering my expectations about Cloud Native development and deployment of assets. I started reading it cover to cover over the Christmas Holiday but now i just pick it up and look for the group of essays about exactly the problem I'm wrestling with. P.S. I'm heartened by the editors commitment to Black Lives Matter and Rule of Law. Mentioned only to balance the concerns from another review.

Why Politics in a Tech Book????
Format: Kindle
Well... I'm surprised to see the book blatently calls out its dedication to Black Lives Matter, which is in all caps so I assume it's referring to the political organization. It goes on to speak of 2020 being the year of an "awakening of injustices of systematic racism"... I thought I was buying a technical book??? Had I known this political bs was included I wouldn't have purchased it! However, I bought and I'm still reading it. If the politics goes away and the TECHNICAL content is good I'll update my review.

Not good use of time
Format: Paperback
It’s not clear who this book targets - neither experts nor novice will benefit. There are expert perspectives, only few of these are helpful, rest are too generic to be of any use. For instance the last entry is one an engineer who shares how she went from zero to expert in cloud engineering in six months but fails to mention a single resource or pathway for others to follow.
